About This Item
Reading, Massachusetts: Addison-Wesley, 1971. First Thus. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Good. Willi Baum. First printing. 38 pages, approx. 8 1/2 " tall x 11". NF in G DJ; 3 sm closed tears on back, some smudging, sticker residue. A selection of tall tales retold for children 7 and up. About the authors: "R. E. Raspe was born in Hanover, Germany in 1737. A scientist and a story-teller, Raspe also happened to be a gambler and a thief. . . . Willi Baum comes as close to resembling Baron Munchausen as a man can and live to tell it or draw it. Though a very truthful man, he is given to occasional alarming feats . . . Doris Orgel shares Mr. Baum's pleasure in the Munchausen stories. She has worked hard to preserve the extravagant character of these tall tales, while making them simple and direct enough to appeal to children." For the literary child of any age. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
