Signed by compiler on introduction page and by one of the residents whose account appears in the book. Good condition. Afrikaans text. "In die Baviaanskloof lê 'n rykdom van stories oor gebeurtenisse in die lewe van die bewoners deur die jare. Hierdie verhale en stories is mondelings van geslag tot geslag oorgedra toe daar nog tyd was om voor die kaggel of kombuisstoof familiestories en wedervaringe van die verlede aan die kinders te vertel. Die mense van die Baviaanskloof se kulturele erfenis is egter as gevolg van die moderne tegnologie besig om in vergetelheid te verval. Uiteraard gaan hierdie oorleweringe al meer verlore. Hierdie bundel se bedoeling is dus nié net om sommige van die belewenisse uit vanmelewe se dae in herrinering te roep nie, maar as stimulus te dien vir verdere ontginning van die kulturele skatte wat in hierdie verband in die Baviaanskloof opgesluit lê." .
