Third revised edition, 8vo, pp. [2], vi, 340, [4]; full brown cloth, red title on spine and front board; edges rubbed, hinges starting, three clippings on endpapers including two magic tricks and an obituary (Edna G. Snyder), magic shop addresses in typescript on lower free endpaper, a couple of pencil annotations, including an address correction, good and sound. With the bookseller's ticket of Martinka & Co magical shop on dedication page. Martinka & Co. was the longest running magical supplier in the United States, having been established in 1877 and ceasing operations in 2021. Abbott was a friend and contemporary of Harry Houdini and a fellow skeptic. His expose of medium fraud enjoyed significant popularity.
