New York: Benziger Brothers, 1912. Hardcover. Fair. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Tall hardcover, interior cloth shows spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The reason for the low condition grade of fair is because the exterior hinge is cracked near the center. This issue is limited to the outside of the book only and the interior is unaffected by this. The interior binding is good, no hinge two and cracks but there are some other issues: there are two pieces of scotch tape on the front pastedown and the opposite end page shows remnants of something written along the top edge and then later erased. There is also a tear/chip along the top of page 49 where a paperclip once was. The clip ended up cutting through the paper and removing an oval piece. In addition, there are a thin rust marks on the two surrounding pages from the paperclip along with some dampstains along the top edge. The pages also have a very light ripple along the top, which cannot be seen but you can feel it when you run your hand across the paper. There was also some light dampstains present in the lower outside corner area, starting around page 103 and continuing on to the back of the book. No other handwriting noted other than the erased portion on the front end page, no bookplates, no library markings etc.

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.
We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.
Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.
