Cover has dark red rose with tire tracks across it. G+; nice, tight, clean copy, pencilled notation on ffep, last 20 p. or so are wrinkled at upper corner, last few quite noticeably. Does not affect readability. Someone must have been reading in the bath. "Bettina's end seems near. And as she feels her days draw to a close, her mind travels back to her first love, a young French scholar who introduced her to Guillaume de Lorris' 13th-century masterpiece on courtly love . . ."
