Wyman's monumental classic, A Bibliography of Printing. The original three volumes were published from 1880 to 1886 by the famed British bookman and publisher, Bernard Quaritch. This ground-breaking catalogue of the literature of printing quickly established itself as the premier bibliography in its field. Beautifully illustrated ..hundreds of original woodcuts depicting portraits, printers' marks, topographical scenes, and foliated initials graced many of its thousand-plus pages. Unlike many of its unannotated predecessors, Bigmore and Wyman's analytical descriptions gave a unique and strong-willed voice to this well-researched book. The original work contained one major drawback; it lacked a comprehensive index. In this expanded edition, we have corrected this oversight, indexing titles, subjects, and authors and adding a new, well-researched introduction by Henry Morris on some of the biblio-history behind the work and its authors.
