About This Item
London: Collins, 1967. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. The interior of the book is clean and tight. There is an inked signature of a former owner on the front free end paper, but bo other marks or signs of use. The green tweed covers are fresh, with just a touch of wear at corners and the top and bottom of the spine. The gilt spine lettering is still shiny. The dust jacket is also in very good condition, showing light wear overall, with the worst problem being a chip of paper missing from the top of the front panel. The attached scan shows this and gives a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: "Young Dick is the son of an officer in the famous regiment of the Black Riders, but he finds himself caught up in a revolutionary movement dedicated to fighting the leader of the Black Riders, Jasper the Terrible, and all he stands for. Dick's appearance is innocent enough and he becomes a useful go-between for the conspirators: soon, known by the code name of Stormy Petrel, he is entrusted with highly dangerous assignments. When his disguise is penetrated, he finds to his horror that he is to be a prisoner in the house of Count Jasper himself . and then events take a surprising turn.
