Small Octavo. 8vo. 241 (1) pp. previous owner inked name & date (1010) ffep, List of characters, Costumes, Very light external wear to boards. No markings, binding tight, clean, white and bright. 5.5" x 7.75". Green cloth with decorative blind-stamped flowers and gilt bordered title plate and gilt lettering to front board, gilt bordered title plate and gilt lettering to spine, and gilt top text block. DJ trimmed all around 1/4" or so. DJ slightly age toned spine with square chip to top edge spine dj, and a thin line of chipping along remaining to edge and bottom edge of same. In acetate protector. Lain-in 3x5 card note: " Copy of The Blue Bird put aside at Gotham Book Mart in NYC for the consideration of J. D. Salinger who announced he was to visit the store to purchase 2 titles by Maurice Materlinck, circa 1995. This copy of the book he rejected, but he held it in his hands! P.R." (sic).
