NY: Viking, 1934. First Edition (1934.) Hardcover with dust jacket. 8vo with 30 pages. Illustrated By Helen Sewell. The book is in very good condition with some rubbing and bumping to edges. Interior is clean and tight. The dust jacket is in fair condition with a tear 3/4" to the top of the spine of the dust jacket some bumping and rubbing to edges. Frances Clarke Sayers (1897-1989) was an American children's librarian, author of children's books, and lecturer on children's literature. In 1999, American Libraries named her one of the "100 Most Important Leaders We Had in the 20th Century". Helen Sewell (1896-1957) was an American illustrator who took classes taught by Alexander Archipenko and was the first illustrator of the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
