Oxford: Printed at the Clarendon Press by W.Jackson and A.Hamilton, 1786. Book. Good. Full-Leather. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Bound in period dark red leather with gilt tooling, five raised bands to spine. Marbled endpapers. All edges originally gilt but only faint evidence of this. Previous owners initials, A.S.H. in gilt on the front cover (the reverse of the front endpaper bears the inscription Ann Speed Hodgskin her book 1789). Another later previous owners name on reverse of frontispiece. The covers are quite rubbed and shelfworn, binding holding firmly. The page facing plate 22 has a three inch horizontal tear. Light browning to text throughout. Foxing to last few pages. Three works bound in one volume. The titles are as follows: The Book of Common Prayer, and Administration of the Sacraments, and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church According to the Use of the Church of England; together with the Psalter, or Psalms of David, Pointed as they are to be sung or said in Churches. Printed at the Clarendon Press, by W.Jackson and A Hamilton, Printers to the University MDCCLXXXI (1786), engraved frontispiece depicting a head and shoulders portrait of George II., 50 further engraved plates. 2.
