" The book is the Chevalier de la Tour Landry (1371) was the manual of deportment for girls of birth in France, England and such parts of Germany as were relatively civilized, from the year of its appearance to well into the renaissance, Its popularity was great.The object of this edition has been to give a modernized but not an emasculate version of the original fifteenth century manuscript, anonymously translated from the French in the reign of King Henry VI and now in the Harleian collection in the British Museum. This introduction is by D. B. Wyndham Lewis. Book is Near fine with a bumped bottom spine and a bit of soil on this nicely bound white linen jacket The printing is very fine and the book is internally spotless. 500 copies of this edition have been printed at the Alcuin Press, in the UK.
