NY: Rinehart & Co., 1946. First edition. Hardcover. Fine. Volume I covers history of bookbinding and decoration with b/w illustrations of various bindings. Volume II covers the craft in detail with numerous drawings, index, and glossary. Bound in black cloth with gilt titles and decorationin on the spines. Slight rubbing of gilt letters at bottom of spine on vol. 1. Fine black slipcase with white paper label. Very nice, and heavy, classic set.
