'Boy from the kraal is the true story of a lad who, after having been brought up most carefully according to the traditions of tribal life, became one of The Salvation Army's best-loved African officers. A musician and linguist of no mean ability, his song-writing and translation work has greatly enriched the store of songs in the Bantu languages.' .
