About This Item

New York: Dino De Laurentiis Corporation, 1970. Corrected proof of Sapir's 1975 novel, "Bressio," in wrappers bearing the address label of the Dino De Laurentiis Corporation, for uses of script development for an unproduced film. Sapir rose to prominence with the "Destroyer" novels in the 1960s, created with Warren Murphy. He also wrote "The Body" (1983), basis for Jonas McCord's 2001 film starring Antonio Banderas. Agency photocopy, not vintage, for research purposes only.

Sapir's soft-hearted title character, Alphonse Joseph Bressio, is a hard-boiled investigator hired to look into some strange happenings in Greenwich Village. Mary Beth Cutler is paranoid about a government agent, and her pusher boyfriend L. Marvin Fleish is moving up the drug ladder.

Black wrappers with title and address labels on the front wrapper. Title page present, noting publisher Random House and writer Sapir. Last leaf of text numbered 279. Xerographically reproduced. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus, bound internally with two gold brads.
