Oliver Ditson & Co., Boston Evidently, this was a series of books, each containing a few classical music pieces arranged for the organ by J.W. Elliott. The title page gives the titles of 26 pieces [groups], but the book contains only the first 6, and it appears that there never were any others - so this would be the first of 4 or 5 volumes, although that is not stated. Approx. 13.5" X 10.5", moderately soiled and stained by exposure to moisture at the lower edge of the front cover near the spine. The interior is unaffected; some light pencil notations - GOOD to GOOD PLUS condition. No publication date, but probably mid-19th century. This book contains "Andante Cantabile from the Pianoforte Duets" by Mozart; "Chorus - Let all the Angels" from The MESSIAH by Handel; "Solo and Chorus - Eia Mater" from Stabat Mater by Rossini; "Andantino from a Pianoforte Fantasia" by Mozart; "Chorus, Then Round about" from SAMSON by Handel; "Chorus - Gloria in Excelsis" from TWELFTH MASS by Mozart; "Andante" from THE PIANOFORTE DUETS by Mozart; "Quartetto - Benedictus" by Novello; "Solo and Chorus - The Marvelous Work" from CREATION by Hayden; "Adagio" from THE FANTASIA IN C MINOR by Mozart; "Andante Religioso" by J.W. Elliott; "O Bone Jesu" Teio for treble Voices by Novello. 37pp. Note that there are plate marks on every page, so these pages were probably engraved.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket.
