Green cloth bindings, slightly later 19th century bindings retaining the publisher's original covers internally (Knights Weekly Volume). The cloth is rubbed, the inner hinges have loosened (loosened internally) and the text blocks loosening from the covers, volume 1 with repaired tear to the title page and the introduction page, with the repair covering but not obscuring the text on the intro page, margin repair to 42 in volume 2. Some toning and marking in places. Armorial bookplate and signature on the endpapers. Pages; 222/240, with ads. Historical novel by Scottish writer Charles Macfarlane 1799-1858. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall
