The William Byrd press, inc, 1928. First Edition. Unknown Binding. Good/No Jacket. Hardcover, 1928, first edition, William Byrd Press. No dustjacket, as issued. Binding solid and square. Two foldout maps as called for, one color and one black and white. No markings to the interior. Full bound tan boards, lettering and crossed cannons design in gilt to front board. Lightly soiled, and with three small dark spots to front board. "Errors in Proofreading" erratta sheet to front pastedown. Based on years of research and on the author's personal experiences in the Second Company of the Richmond Howitzers, in which he "participated in all the principal engagements of the Army of Northern Virginia from Seven Pines to Fredericksburg." Color fold-out map shows Wilderness, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg and Spottsylvania, including commanders, troop lines, and trench positions.
