About This Item

Racine: Whitman Publishing Company. Very Good-. abt 1916. Hardcover. The Campfire Girls series was authored by about a dozen writers between 1900 and 1936. Samuel E. Lowe (1890-1952) was a prolific author who wrote over 45 books and became the president of Whitman Publishing Co. He wrote this book using the pen name Helen Har. This book has a pictorial cover depicting two girls girls talking to a woman in an apron on a porch. This book is in nice condition with a little wear to edges, the front inner hinge is broken, the rear inner hinge pulled at the staples (last page forms rear end paper in this book), yet it is still a tight book. There is no date, but based upon the context of the story, it appears to be set during World War I. ; B&W Illustrations; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 127 pages .
