About This Item
New York: Made by Pynson Printers for Random House, 1929. Random House Reprint. Hardcover. Rockwell Kent. 111pp. Quarto [28 cm] Magenta cloth over boards with gilt stamped titles and ornamentation on the spine and front cover. Very good condition. The boards are very slightly concave, the spine ends and corners of the covers are gently bumped, and the underlying boards are just barely peeking through at the foot of the spine and the bottom fore edge corner of the front cover. There is a minor stain on the rear cover. The dust jacket is in poor condition. It is torn in half, and has numerous closed tears and small open tears in the edges and along the folds. The jacket is also mildly soiled and darkened. This book, the first of the Random House Reprints is set by hand in Garamond type and printed on a specially made paper by the Pynson Printers, and contains all the illustrations made by Rockwell Kent for the Random House limited edition of nineteen hundred and twenty-eight.
