About This Item
New York: Putnam, 1964. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Fourth Printing. Near Fine in a Very Good jacket, unclipped ($5.00), generally toned, some rubbing to the laminate, chipped at the head of the spine. Purple and black cloth on the boards with dulled gilt lettering on the spine. Square and firmly bound with a red top stain, pages slightly toned, clean otherwise. Originally published by the Olympia Press, Candy is an absurd satire of American life, compared as a whole on the dust jacket to Nathanael West's "A Cool Million," and as a character to Lolita, Kitten, and Holly Golightly.
