An advertising card incorporating a biography and oval portrait of Captain Cook at the upper left, with banner above reading "Maison Vendant Bon Marche", with a scene of the English meeting a native carrying spear. Advertising card for "Phares de La Bastille, Habillements Pour Hommes Dames & Enfants", a French clothing manufacturer. Chromolithograph, 3' x 4 1/8". Number 38 in the lower left corner. The verso of the card has text pertaining to Cook, with a mention of his death "aux Iles Sandwich" in French Verso slt toned, very good.
