Condition:
Light staining at the center of the back cover. There is a 1" cloth split at the top-right corner of the spine, and a 3/4" cloth split at the bottom-right and bottom-left corners of the spine. There is a crack at the front hinge between pages xii & xiii - despite the crack, the front cover is still firmly attached and is not shaky. The back cover is firmly attached. Page xiii is attached to the spine at the top and bottom edges, but has pulled away at the center. Pages xiv & xv have small tears along the outer edge. The full-page engraved plates have a half-oval stain at the top edge - the illustrations are unaffected. The frontispiece has a stain at the bottom-left and top-right corners - the portrait is unaffected. Overall the book is in Good- condition.
