This is a beautifully illustrated music book, "The Chelsea Song Book." Circa 1920's (there is no date of publication stated); Minton, Balch and Company; New York. The book features 20 songs in all, each with a wonderful illustration in color by Juliet Wigan. Please see the photos for the complete list of songs. From the introduction: "These songs have been collected, and in many instances newly arranged for the piano, by Charles Kennedy Scott. The drawings are by Juliet Wigan. The script of the music has been especially designed and written by Paul Woodroffe. The calligraphy is by Margaret Shipton." The book is larger in size - it measures 12 1/2" tall x 10" wide.
Condition:
Light soiling to the covers. The spine has a 3" cloth tear at the center, a cloth tear at the bottom edge, and a 1/2" strip missing at the top edge. Light cover corner wear. Shelf wear along the outer edge of the back cover. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are mostly clean with only a few random, light smudges found, and some very light foxing and tanning to the end papers and pastedowns. Overall the book is in Good condition.
