Noble, OK: Published by the Author, 1983. Paperback. viii, 259p., a few diagrammatic illustrations plus a site photograph, first edition in 8x5.5 inch plain printed grey wraps. Front cover is a little smudged with offset color, and is edgeworn with a quarter-inch marginal tear, and a touch of silverfishing to spine panel. Item is else quite sound and square, clean, and unmarked save for the authorial autograph on the front free endpaper. Womack's research on Cleveland County commenced following publication of his history of the city of Norman. In a brief intro by William K. Meyers of the Dept of History Univ Ok, Womack is praised for tackling local secrets: "the county's first lynching.. [B]lacks in the community, women who made the [Sooner] run.. subjects which our full time academics usually choose to ignore
