[16], 122 [=128], [8] pp.Rare second edition of the first official pharmacopoeia of Paris, compiled by Philippe de Hardouin de Saint-Jacques (d. 1659), dean of the faculty of medicine at the University of Paris. The pharmacopoeia is divided into several chapters, each dealing with a different type of medicine, including waters, syrups, pills, oils, plasters, salves etc. For each medicine the healing properties, ingredients and preparation methods are briefly described.With bookplates and several library stamps. Browned, and with mostly marginal worm holes throughout. A fair copy.
