Macmillan and Co., Limited, London, 1909. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. Prefatory note by author and index. Green coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed decoration and titles along with gilt embossed titles to the front panel and back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with green coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A small biography / literary criticism on the 18th-century English poet Samuel Coleridge. Part of the Pocket Edition series by publisher. Rubbing of the back strip edges and book corners and the corners also show bumping. Like uniform tanning of the text block edges and pages with some light foxing of the text block edges. Pages 145 through to 152 show a printing fault inasmuch as during the book's production the top right-hand corner was folded and was not cut cleanly with the rest of the text block  please see photograph. Some fading to the back strip. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip corners. Numerous small chips creases to the top dustwrapper edge and creasing to the lower edge. Scattered foxing to the dustwrapper panels with really heavy signing of the back strip. Stains and running to the verso of the dustwrapper.
