New York, NY, 1961. First Paperback. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Dust jacket. Text unmarked . Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Slight shelf-wear and bumping to corners. BELMONT L518. Biography of Chicago's famous madames, the Everleigh Sisters whose brothel was so famous it may have been the root of the term "To get laid" (Leighed). The sisters were featured prominently in Karen Abbott's Sin in the Second City. First paperback edition with attractive GGA painted cover art. Art is signed but illegible (looks like "Jamie Pod???") / Unread or gently read condition. Cover bright and glossy showing one small fleabite chip and light rubbing to edges. Bumping to spine ends with short (closed) split to head of spine and small material loss to foot of spine. Pages clean and supple. Binding square and solid.
