About This Item

R.A.M.S., the Restoration of Alchemical Manuscripts Society. Very Good with no dust jacket. Softcover. Stiff coated card covers, comb binding with handwriiten label affixed to spine, contains 24 separate tabs, each with a separate work and page numbering, text printed on recto only. List of titles on request.; 10" x 11"; "R.A.M.S. , the Restoration of Alchemical Manuscripts Society is a very loosely knit group composed of private citizens around the world who have contributed to the present work and others in one way or another. The goal of the society is to seek out and obtain copies of Alchemical manuscripts, tracts, printed works and other such materials and liiterature. From these, certain items are selected for 'restoration'. This consists of re-typing the material to render it readable, therefore usable. The reading is made more enjoyable by the use of charts, symbols, dictionaries, diagrams, insertion of printed illustrations and other annotations to shed additional light on the text" (introduction). Extremely uncommon, OCLC shows two entries for an edition in French with no holdings. This group appears per OCLC to be active starting late 1970s and notes the group as Restorers. The text notes them as Restoration and the hand-labeled tabs and spine label mark this as one of their early efforts. ; Mild edgewear to covers, tabs and and pages, clean text. .
