About This Item
London: John Lane the Bodley Head, 1925. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 7.5" by 5". None. The first UK edition of this comic novel from James Branch Cabell. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. James Branch Cabell was a popular writer of fantasy novels, offering a form of escapism whilst also being satirical. He is probably best known for his novel 'Jurgen', though he also wrote 'The Biography of the Life of Manuel', and 'The Rivet in Grandfather's Neck. With an introduction by Wilson Follett. In a blue cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Dustwrapper is generally smart, with just some handling marks and slight edgewear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, and generally clean, though with some instances of foxing. Very Good Indeed
