Reader reviews for Creating a Dynamic Speech Dialogue - How to implement dialogue initiatives and question selection strategies with VoiceXML agents

From the publisher

In recent years man-machine-communication has become more important. Several speech dialogue systems have been developed in order to provide a very comfortable interaction for categorising users prior to forwarding them to a human employee. The aim is to satisfy the user without or at least with reduced human involvement. Hence, the goal of this book is to demonstrate how to create a dynamic speech dialogue with VoiceXML agents. This also includes calculating the shortest question sequence, based on user's given answers during the dialogue, in order to complete the dialogue as quickly as possible. The book further contains an evaluation of available dialogue initiatives and question selection strategies. Furthermore, a detailed design for a dynamic dialogue, frequent speech dialogue and speech recognition specific problems, as well as gained experiences are discussed. This volume is for ambitious innovators in charge of designing dynamic speech dialogues. Additionally, this book offers valuable insights to lecturers and students as well as to researchers in the area of speech dialogues and speech recognition.
