London: Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1854. Eighth Edition. Hardcover. Thomas Babington Macaulay (1800-1859) was an English historian, poet, literary critic and politician. This copy is bound in 3/4 dark green leather over marbled boards. The spine has five raised bands with gilt spine lettering and compartment decoration. Top edges of all volumes are gilt. Marbled end paper. Pagination: vol.1 585 p.; vol. 2 611 p.; vol. 3. 626 p. There is just a little edgewear to this set. The contents are clean and free of foxing or staining. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the front paste down in each volume. ; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall .
