Scarce late 17th-century travelogue of the West and East Indies.
Claude Biron's scarce and interesting travel narrative and collection of curiosities. A rich collection of information about the natural history of the Indies gathered personally on his two voyages. In the West Indies, he visited Cayenne, Martinique, and Guadeloupe. Illustrated with seven engraved plates of plants and animals, as well as a folded portrait of Confucius.
Provenance: The French ethnographer, explorer and geographer Eugène de Froberville's (1790-1871) ownership stamp on title page.
