About This Item

This is a collection of five "CYCLISTS' ROAD MAPS OF NEW YORK" from 1893 with the original storage pouch. "Compiled by the Road Book Committee of the N.Y. Div. L.A.W." These maps were not available for sale to the public and were "Issued Free to Members of the Division." Lithographed by Robert L. Stillson in New York. The maps indicate various cycling routes, such as "Good Cycling Road," "Fair Cycling Road," and "Unridable, or unknown Road." Uncommon with five maps in one lot with the original storage pouch. The maps are large - each measures 25" x 21 1/2" when unfolded.

The following five maps are included:
* "SECTION 2" with "Adirondacks" handwritten on it (this map is the same as the map below)
* "SECTION 2" with "North E down to Lake George" handwritten on it (this map is the same as the map above)
* "SECTION 3" with "Buffalo E & S" handwritten on it
* "SECTION 4" with "Finger Lakes & Oneida Lake" handwritten on it
* "SECTION 6" with "South E N.Y." handwritten on it

Condition:
Two "Section 2" maps are included - the one with "Adirondacks" hand-written on it has separated horizontally along the top fold line; there are also tears at the creases along the top and bottom edges, and tears along the bottom horizontal fold line. "Section 2 - Lake George" has a few small tears at some random corners where the fold lines meet. Sections 3 & 6 each have a few tiny tears at some random corners where the fold lines meet. Section 4 is in terrific condition with no issues found. Overall the collection is in Very Good condition, with the exception of one of the Section 2 maps which is in Poor condition due to it being torn.
