New York: Downtown Athletic Club, 1974. Signed by Archie Griffin with b/w photo of him from Heisman ceremony laid-in. Very Good condition but for mild waviness to page edges. SEE PHOTOS. Pages are clean and unmarked. This is the program for the 40th Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Award, December 1974. The award was presented to Ohio State University's Archie Griffin, chosen as the outstanding college football player in the United States for 1974. Griffin also won the following year (1975), making him the first and only two-time Heisman winner. This program has 66 pages, and includes several excellent articles - on John W. Heisman; how the Heisman candidates finished in the balloting over the years (top 14 places, 1935-1973), a photo gallery of all the previous winners, etc. Bound in the original pictorial gray wraps, with a photo of Archie Griffin on the front cover. Archie Griffin has signed in blue ink on the front cover over his uniform number 45. Laid-in is a b/w 8" by 10" photo of Archie Griffin with Ronald Cobleigh, his wife and daugher, standing behind Archie Griffin's two Heisman trophies. Because there are two trophies, the photo is from the 1975 ceremony and is dated December 11, 1975 on the rear. This copy is from the collection of Ronald Cobleigh, President of the Downtown Athletic Club - sponsor of the Heisman Memorial Trophy. It doesn't have Cobleigh's name, but see our inventory for several other items that do.. Signed by Archie Griffin. First Edition. Softcover (stapled wraps).
