About This Item
Minimal library distinctions, pocket removed, elise, appears as unblemished, unread copy in Green Rebound Cloth Covered Boards, displaying minor surface/edge wear.
This story is built around 17 year old Belle McGlory, half hoyden, half enchantress, who, tired of her pickpocket life in New York, stows away on a boat bound for California and its treasures of gold. The darling of the ship, Belle becomes involved with Lucius Talent, a gambler as deft with the ladies as he is with a pack of cards. The love of Belle is eventually the stake in a desperate game played out between Lucuis and Jim Rideout in a casino in Panama.
