DC folk music event in August 1985 [Photographs]

[Washington, DC], 1985. Very Good. A nice little collection of 15 black and white photos from an July 1985 folk concert with the Kingston Trio and an August 1985 Birchmere Club concert with folk singer Tom Chapin. The July concert features the Kingston Trio in one of its many incarnations after their initial fame in the 1950s-60s. After the original group broke up, one of its original members, Bob Shane, bought the rights to the group's name and continued performing with various other musicians over several decades. During the period of this event, Shane was joined by George Grove and Bobby Haworth. There are seven photos of the group and of Shane alone. There are three photos that feature Dick Cerri, the well-known D.C.folk music disc jockey and founder of the World Folk Music Association. There is also a photo of singers Doris Justis and Sean McGhee, a couple who sometimes performed together as Side by Side. One other photo does not identify its subjects. There are four photos (two duplicates) from Chapin's performance at the Birchmere. The pictures appear to have been taken professionally, with "Photograph by Jean Ward" stamped on the backs. There are miscellaneous notes by her such as file copy, subject, camera settings. Most of the photos measure 5 x 6.5 inches. In very good condition. PHOTO/051220.
