About This Item
Tight, square, uncreased spine. Former owner name in ink to inside front cover, nut interior is else clean and unmarked. Only very light shelf-wear. Cover photo by Leroy McLucas. 'We don't know if he ever died,' Baraka, née Jones, once cracked when asked what he would write for his own epitaph. He cofounded the Black Arts Movement, was a member of the Umbra Poets Workshop alongside Ishmael Reed and Lorenzo Thomas, once threw a party where Allen Ginsberg was introduced to Langston Hughes while Ornette Coleman played saxophone, and due to what Naila Keleta-Mae calls his legacy of 'saying the unsayable', spent much of his decades-long career mired in controversy. 79 pp. Poetry.
