About This Item
New York: E.P. Dutton &Co., Inc., 1948. First Edition . Cloth. Very Good/Very Good Plus. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. About Very Good. See description and scans. New York: E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc., 1948. First Edition [stated]. 12mo, 224 pp. Blue cloth, pictorial jacket. Faint damp stains at top and bottom of cover, modest (10 degree) spine lean, prior bookshop stamp on ffep, hinge weakening between half-title and title pages, signs of removal of what was probably a previous owner's bookplate. Still bright and solidly bound, an about very good book in a bright, glossy jacket which is unclippped, but has been trimmed short along the bottom edge, apparently to bring it shorter than the book itself. Price and jacket text unaffected. Overall, About Very Good for the both. Very good plus jacket as is, would be near fine if not for this trimming. A Sheriff Jess Roden murder mystery; rich daughter is slain, Roden is on the case. The stated first edition, scarce in jacket. L17n
