The spine is slightly faded with light creasing to the head. 261 & [2] pages plus colophon. There is an owner's ink name on the front endpaper. There is foxing to the fore-edge & prelims & to a few text pages. Good. <p>First edition.<p>The author looks back to the age of the sailing ship and to a voyage he made earlier in his life "in a whaling ship of the old school".
