About This Item

New York: Random House, (1971). First Edition. The book and dustwrapper have suffered from water damage at the bottom, only faintly visible but with the pages wavy at the bottom corner. There is some bleeding from the color of the covers to the dustwrapper as well. Good at best in like dustwrapper but with a great association from a Jewish son to his mother. The subject of this comic novelist's fourth book is the apprenticeship of an itinerant radio personality. This copy is INSCRIBED by the author to his mother: "For Mother,/Who had the good/character to change/my life--/Love,/ Stanley."
