About This Item

HARDCOVER. SIGNED. Hand SIGNED and very briefly inscribed by the author, Michael K. Deaver, to the Full Title Page. New condition book with a first state Dust Jacket. FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING copy with "First Edition" and number line 10987654321 on the copyright page. NOT Remaindered. NOT otherwise Inscribed, NOT Ex-library, NOT Book Club Edition, NOT Price clipped, ($25.00). Very, very minor top edge bump, almost unnoticeable. Appears only opened to Sign. NOT signed on a PUBLISHER tipped-in, laid-in page, or bookplate as many books are today! (Note: Publishers are now attempting to pass off books as "signed" by inserting author-signed sheets at the time of printing!). The dust jacket is in near-new condition. First Edition, First Printing, hand SIGNED to full title page. No other inscriptions; full signature only. Publication date: April 20, 2001. No foxing on the edges. The Interior is bright and white. The boards are tight. No names, writing, underlining, highlighting, creases, prior owner inscriptions, bookplates, etc. Stored in a smoke-free environment. ALWAYS wrapped securely for added protection. I may have multiple copies of this book for sale. If I do, all were signed the same day, at the same signing event, at the same time, using the same pen by the author. I use only one listing photo of the signed book page for all the listings, and each signature page, naturally, may be slightly different. If you have any questions, please ask. BS00018.

Synopsis

A warm, intimate portrait of President Ronald Reagan by his confidant and friend of over 35 years.Former aide and long–time family friend Michael Deaver first met Ronald Reagan during his 1966 campaign for governor of California and later served him in Sacramento and Washington, DC, as the president's deputy chief of staff. In A Different Drummer, Reagan emerges as charismatic and unwaveringly optimistic, a devoted husband and dedicated leader, disciplined and tough. As Deaver points out in his introduction, worked eight years doing the toughest job on earth; criss–crossed the world; and survived an assassin's bullet, a devastating riding accident, cancer, and brain surgery all after he turned seventy.'Deaver also shares the lows, including the tough times that would test the strength of their friendship. Finally, he shares a look at Reagan today as he battles Alzheimer's disease. It is Nancy Reagan's finest hour, Deaver writes, a validation of the greatest love story he has ever known.
