About This Item

Boston Mass.: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1937. Hardcover. Good+/None Included. G+/later prntng. One of several famous journals by women published after our Civil War describing the everyday life of the defeated population of Virginia. Originally printed in 1906 by Doubleday, this would be a 1937 reprint by the Houghton Mifflin Co. to try and cash in on Gone with the Wind's popularity with the American people. This is a clean fairly tight ex-library book, with all the markings and a Dewey number across the spine. An excellent research or reading copy, the cover has general wear and a couple of dents across the front cover. Bumped corners and exposed boards at the tips of the corners. Interior is clean with no soiling or marking other than library marks.
