About This Item

New York: Alchemical Music Co, 1971. First edition of the sheet music accompaniment to the Doors' seventh studio album; the first album released by the band following Jim Morrison's death. Quarto, original wrappers, illustrated with photographs. Boldly signed by drummer John Densmore on the front panel. In good condition. Released in October 1971, Other Voices was the first album released by the band following the death of front man Jim Morrison with keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger sharing lead vocals. Morrison died unexpectedly in Paris at the age of 27 and the cause of his death remains disputed. He was buried in Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, one of the city's most visited tourist attractions, where Irish playwright Oscar Wilde, French cabaret singer Edith Piaf, and many other poets and artists are also buried.
