A large paper first trade edition of this volume beautifully illustrating Sir William Russell Flint's art, inscribed and signed by English actor Bernard Miles. The first trade edition of this work, published simultaneously as a signed limited edition in a more attractive half morocco binding. A large paper volume celebrating and illustrating the art of Sir William Russell Flint, Scottish artist and illustrator, well known for his beautiful watercolours of women. This volume is comprised of one hundred and thirty four of his work, carefully reproduced, ninety eight of which in full page plates. The drawings are produced by photogravure and the text is set in Fontana. Collated, complete. This copy is inscribed and signed by Bernard Miles, English actor, writer, and director known for playing character roles that usually had bucolic backgrounds or links to countrymen. He inscribed it to the front free endpaper 'To Pat Betts with love and admiration,' dated 1958. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. The dust wrapper is smart and unclipped with minor shelf wear and some minor chipping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, a minor puncture mark to the front wrap. Inscribed and signed by English actor Bernard Miles to the front free endpaper, dated 1958. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint scattered spotting to the leaves. Illustrated with ninety eight full page plates and other illustrations in text. Collated, complete. Very Good Indeed
