New York: Creative Age Press, 1943 1943 reprint, 3rd printing of the 1942 biographical piece by Carl Reinhard Raswan pen name for Carl Reinhard Schmidt, a kind of Lawrence of Arabia person, who lived among the Bedouin, wore their regalia and was one of the world's great enthusiasts for their horses. In later life, he worked on an ambitious description of the lineage of every arabian horse in the world. This book describes his first introduction to the middle east, and is illustrated with black and white photographs of beautiful horses, camels and Ruala. (Note that he cites Xenophon 's works on riding see Sparkle Books offering by Szetehlo). This copy is in good to very good condition, no dust jacket, yellow boards lightly soiled with red lettering and red topstain, blindstamped with horse's head, fos dated 1944 on ffep, spine lightly cocked, pages yellowing. This book and the Szetehlo work, as well as Stanley Harrison's Gentlemen: The Horse! are all from the library of a local Alberta collector.
