Illustrated with Black and White Photographs. Please note that the small patch in the top left corner of the dustjacket is not loss - it is the jacket illustration. 256 pages. For six crucial weeks in the summer of 1940, the eyes of the world were on London and southeastern England where the fate of Britain hung in the balance as a few hundred RAF pilots and aircraft [many which were obsolete] struggled against staggering odds. On August 13 - Eagle Day - the Luftwaffe began an all out assault aimed at annihilating the RAF and paving the way for a Nazi invasion of England. A month later, on September 15, Nazi planes attacked in their greatest strength but were met with resistance that was to become legendary. . New Edition. Hardback.
