Cambridge: W. Metcalfe and Sons, 1871-73. Leather. Very Good. 8.5" by 5.5". None. Two volumes of the Cambridge-based periodical, The Eagle. Containing: Volume VII, Volume VIII The poet Thomas Ashe founded The Eagle in the year in which he graduated from St John's., with the help of a college fellow, Joseph Bickersteth Mayor. Henry George Hart (1843?21) and Robert Forsyth Scott (1849?33) were later editors of the magazine. Bound by Gray of Cambridge. In half-calf bindings. Externally, sound, though rubbed, with a few marks. Internally, generally firmly bound. Hinges are a little strained. Pages are quite bright and clean. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
