A sample copy of what became a popular and beautifully illustrated two volume work; 'Europe Illustrated'. This is a sample copy of what eventually became 'Europe Illustrated'. To the front pastedown there is a sample of a green cloth spine for a larger volume laid down. Following this there are examples of blue paper wraps, with 'Part' remaining blank. The wraps have publisher's adverts. Following this there are 10 plates, by T Allom and W H Bartlett and then pages 73-156 of text. The text of this work is written by John Sherer. Each plate has tissue guards.
