61 full page black and white photographs by world renowned photographer Josef Koudelka. Born in Czechoslovakia, he became an exile following the Russian invasion of Prague in 1968 after he smuggled out photographs of the invasion. He left in 1970 and ultimately become a French citizen. He understood exiles. His work is displayed in major museums and he's won awards. An introductory essay by Czeslaw Milosz, who was in the Polish resistance in WW II, has taught a U Cal Berkeley and Harvard and won a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1980. The book is in fine condition. The dust jacket is in near fine condition with only minor shelf wear.
