About This Item

Chicago, Ill. & Port Byron, N.Y.: T.E. Dougherty, 1895. Round die-cut, stapled and cord-bound booklet (11 cm. round), [20] pages. Advertisements. Chromolithograph illustrations throughout. FIRST EDITION. Advertisement in verse and prose for the firm's product, New England Mince Meat. Die-cut pages and stiff wrappers to imitate pie. This charming booklet served as a premium, which could be received in return for five box fronts from New England Condensed Mince Meat. For twenty box fronts, the mince meat fan could receive this booklet, along with a set of paper dolls, 'The Fairies Children", and a large-scale reproduction of Kaber's painting, "The Fairy's Pie". Some light staining to a few pages; staples rusting a bit. Still near very good, in ribbon-tied, and embossed, chromolithograph wrappers. Scarce. [OCLC locates seven copies].
